A DISCUSSION ABOUT THE STEAMBOATS OF THE FINGER LAKES.

October 29, 2014 at 7:00 P.M.

at the Finger Lakes Boating Museum, 8231 Pleasant Valley Road, Hammondsport. 

The discussion will be led by steamboat enthusiast and historian Don Quant.

Steamboats were the primary transportation for people and goods on the Finger Lakes for nearly a century and the history of the steamboat era is a rich one.  First, there is the role the steamboats played in the economy of the area.  Equally important is the cultural history complete with stories of sinking boats and rivalry among captains.  Join us to learn about this fascinating era on the Finger Lakes.
