The Finger Lakes Cheese Trail is pleased to announce their collaboration with the Finger Lakes Cider Alliance to create Cheese & Cider Saturday, slated for Saturday, October 10. This new fall event is the evolution of the Cheese Trail's popular Columbus Day Weekend Open House and is part of the Alliance's Finger Lakes Cider Week activities. The "tour" includes 14 stops at creameries and cideries -- each featuring at least one highlighted cheese and cider pairing for guests to try.
In addition to the pairings, each cidery and creamery will be sampling and selling their products. And many locations will be putting on additional activities on top of that! Side Hill Acres Goat Farm in Candor will be hosting the annual Candor Fall Festival (9:00am-6:00pm) with regular cider & donuts, pumpkin carving, wine & cheese pairings, raffles, lots of kids activities and vendors. Cider Creek Hard Cider in Canisteo will be celebrating the grand opening of their Tasting Room from 1:00pm-10:00pm with live music, food and even fireworks.
The tour consists of five hosting creameries and 9 hosting cideries throughout the Finger Lakes region. A Cheese & Cider Saturday Google map has been created to make touring easy.

Admission is free, but participants must be 21 and over to try the cheese and cider pairings, as the pairings highlight hard cider. The exception being the non-alcoholic pairing at Shtayburne Farm which features Red Jacket Orchards ciders, and is available to guests of all ages.
"We are really excited about this event and delighted to be working with these wonderful cideries," states Lisa Engelbert of Engelbert Farms. She goes on to hint, "It's a pre-cursor of great things to come in 2016!"
General hours for the event are 10:00am-5:00pm unless otherwise stated on the Cheese & Cider Saturday map.
