Penn Yan, NY (January 28, 2014) - Fox Run Vineyards received notice from Governor Cuomo’s office that they have been selected as one of the “Taste NY” companies to be featured at the Super Bowl Host Committee events. The 2010 Lemberger will be available at the NY/NJ Lounge at Super Bowl Boulevard. The Lamb’s Club on 44th Street, owned by Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, will serve as the venue for the Super Bowl Host Committee’s NY/NJ Lounge.
Only credentialed Super Bowl Committee members and guests will be permitted in the NY/NY Lounge, but the 2010 Lemberger is available to purchase online at foxrunvineyards.com or directly from the winery tasting room. It is also available in select retail stores throughout New York State.
As the co-host Governor of Super Bowl XLVIII, Governor Cuomo is using the international event as an opportunity to promote “Taste NY” products and tourism in Upstate New York. New York products will be prominently featured at Super Bowl events throughout the week leading up to the game. More than 5,000 local, national and international media and more than 1 million attendees will have the opportunity to taste the best products New York has to offer as well as be introduced to New York’s wealth of tourist attractions, especially in Upstate. In total, nearly 100 New York vendors will be featured across all the Super Bowl Host Committee events.
During a recent interview with Crain’s New York Business, Scott Osborn, owner of Fox Run Vineyards, attributed a 7% increase in sales of his wines upstate and a 30% increase in the city last year to Taste NY events.
"That's huge," he said "In today's market we like to say flat is the new up because there is so much competition. We appreciate the support from the Governor’s Office to highlight New York products at marque events throughout the state. Putting our wines in front of these audiences gives us an advantage that leads directly to sales."
