FOX RUN VINEYARDS SETS SUMMER SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Jun 10th, 2015

The Glorious Garlic Dinner Returns for 2015

Fox Run Vineyards has set its summer schedule with a variety of tasteful experiences. New events in 2015 include Tasting Blocks taking place once a month on Friday afternoons featuring Winemaker Peter Bell and Chef Brud Holland. Also on the schedule this year is Grapes, Griddles & Vittles, a casual dining event taking place on select Wednesdays in July, August and September. The highlight of the summer will be the Glorious Garlic Dinner, a 6-course celebration of local food, garlic and wine.

Tasting Blocks is a two hour event taking place only once monthly, June-October from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Fox Run's winemaker Peter Bell and chef Brud Holland will guide guests through the building blocks of food and wine pairings. Each of the 3 courses will build upon the principles chefs and winemakers use when collaborating on food and wine pairing. Learning the foundation will give you the tools to make your own pairings with confidence at home. The cost is $60 per person and reservations are required. The first date is June 26th. Reservations are now being accepted for each offering on foxrunvineyards.com.

Grapes, Griddles & Vittles is another new event series happening at Fox Run this summer. Chef Brud Holland will be cooking up the vittles, an elevated version of the classic grilled cheese using cheeses from local Finger Lakes creameries on a custom-built flat top griddle. Each event will feature a different take on the popular dish. Taking place on the back patio overlooking the vineyard from 5-7 on select Wednesdays in July, August and September, the first occurrence is July 22nd. The meal cost is $10 and includes a side salad. Preferred wine pairings are available by the glass or bottle. No reservations are required and will be first-come, first-serve seating.

The Food & Wine Experience returns in 2015 beginning June 12th. Guests enjoy an educational and culinary showcase offering a personal experience starting with a walking tour followed by a light lunch served in our historic barrel room. A selection of local cheeses, charcuterie, greens and fresh baked bread accompanies a flight of six wines. The cost is $40 per person and includes a keepsake glass. Reservations are required and can be made by visiting the website, www.foxrunvineyards.com.

The 23rd Annual Glorious Garlic Festival will be held on August 1-2, 2015. Feast on food flavored with fresh garlic, enjoy festival vendors including regional garlic farmers, and pick up a tip from local Finger Lakes chefs' cooking demonstrations. Soak up some sunshine and enjoy the views of Seneca Lake while listening to great musical entertainment and sipping on Fox Run wine. There is free admission and parking. The weekend starts off on July 30th with the Thursday night Garlic Festival concert featuring The Town Pants.

Returning this year only is the Glorious Garlic Dinner to be held on Saturday night, August 1st at 6 pm. A gorgeous view of Seneca Lake will serve as the backdrop for this 6-course dinner. Chef Brud Holland has created a menu filled with the best selections of Finger Lakes sourced ingredients infused with garlic and paired with Fox Run wines. This tented event will be held at the top of the vineyards, offering a sunset view and moon lit lake accompanied by live music by Gap Mangione & The New Blues Band. Tickets are now on sale at foxrunvineyards.com.
