Gaffer District Businesses Give Back

Nov 12th, 2015

Gaffer District businesses have decided to give back in a big way for several months out of the year, beginning this November. Through donations, commitment to the community and bringing together people to support their hometown, organizations like Pathways, the Bath VA Voluntary Service Program, the SPCA, the Food Bank, among many others will benefit from the efforts of the Gaffer District Business Association (GDBA).

"For so many of us that have lived, worked, or owned a business in Corning's Gaffer District through the years, there's a special connection to the community that is like no other. Giving back in any way we can means so much, especially in a place as special as Corning." - Cynthia Dickerman, President of the GDBA

The Gaffer District Business Association, or the GDBA, is a collection of merchants that meet each month to stay connected, exchange ideas, and develop cross-marketing opportunities that support local business. The "GDBA Gives Back" effort allows many people to come together to help build and support their hometown.

" We created this opportunity for local business owners to gather together and give together. Giving back in any way we can means so much, especially in a place as special as Corning. Even in the smallest ways, giving back is important to that growth. Supporting one another and creating something special amongst a place that is near and dear to us, that's what it's all about." - Amy Gessi, Secretary of the GDBA
