Jun 02nd, 2017

Geneva, N.Y.: The Geneva Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting and Dinner on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Branch by Bellangelo, 226 Turk Road, Geneva. A social hour will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

A short business meeting will be held to highlight last year’s activities and elect new officers and trustees. The evening’s speakers will be Jennifer Lemak and Ashley Hopkins-Benton from the New York State Museum. They will discuss the State Museum's exhibit Votes for Women: Celebrating New York's Suffrage Centennial. The Historical Society will also remember the life and contributions of longtime Society volunteer Dorothy Marino who passed away in 2016.

Dorothy Marino was active for many years in the Geneva Historical Society Women’s Council, becoming its treasurer in 2010, a role she continued in when the Council became the Wassail Bowl Committee in 2012. She served on the Society’s Board of Trustees from 2008 to 2013, was a volunteer bus tour guide and docent at Rose Hill, helped with the Taking Tea school program, and assisted with numerous special events and activities.

The dinner is open to the public, but reservations are required. Tickets for the dinner are $35 per person. Entrée choices are vegetable lasagna, oven roasted rosemary chicken or beef tips with mushroom marsala sauce. The meal includes salad and dessert. There will be a wine and beer cash bar during the event. Reservations can be made by calling the Geneva Historical Society at 315-789-5151 by June 20.
