Rock Stream, NY – The latest brewery in Schuyler County, Seneca Lake Brewing Company located at 4520 State Route 14 in Rock Stream will open this summer.... with a twist! While their beers will not be available until late 2015, Seneca Lake Brewing Company will kick off their first season with something truly unique – bubble ball soccer.
Bubble ball soccer is one of the fastest growing activities in the United States. Groups of 5 pit skill and team work against other teams to score the most goals. All of this is done while playing in an inflatable bubble, allowing players and opponents to bounce and bump off of each other. The bubbles are made of high density PVC and are completely safe. They have harnesses and handles inside allowing each player to navigate the pitch (aka the field) and really get in on the action!
The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the opening of Seneca Lake Brewing Company with an official ribbon cutting on Thursday, May 28 at 5:00pm. Keeping things local, the event will include delicious bites by FLX Wienery, wine tasting by Barnstormer Winery, and beer tasting by Heavily Brewing Company from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. There will also be an opportunity to watch bubble ball soccer and even to try your hand at it if you choose!
Owners Bradley Gillett, DeAnna Timmerman, and Brandon Banks are excited to bring bubble ball soccer to the area. Mr. Gillett's enthusiasm is palpable, "If you are looking for a hilariously fun activity for you and some friends, or have kids that you want to get outdoors, or are a business that is looking to run a team building exercise, book your spot today!" Although the brewery operations will not be open for the 2015 season, Seneca Lake Brewing plans to host tables and offer local libations and soft drinks for visitors until their brews are ready to release.
Seneca Lake Brewing Company will celebrate their opening weekend on May 30 and 31 from 10am to 6pm. There will be beer tasting provided by Heavily Brewing Company and food by FLX Wienery throughout the weekend, along with short "teaser games" of bubble ball soccer.
