Laurie O’Shaughnessy to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award from the

Ontario County Chamber of Commerce

Laurie O’Shaughnessy, retired Executive Director of the Canandaigua YMCA, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at The Q. The award recognizes her tremendous contributions to the Ontario County community.

O’Shaughnessy is the retired Executive Director for the Canandaigua YMCA and has also volunteered for Kiwanis, was a founding committee member of the Arts in the Garden for Sonnenberg Gardens, and a past board member for the Ontario County Chamber of Commerce. She continues to volunteer for the Sands Family YMCA, Community Campaign Committee; Neighbor to Neighbor; Professional Women of the Finger Lakes; ATHENA Awards; co-chair of the Ontario County Habitat for Humanity Woman Build Committee; Thompson Guild; NYS YMCA Foundation and United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, Campaign Ambassador. She receives this award in appreciation of her unwavering commitment, exceptional accomplishments, and dedication to the youth and adults of Canandaigua and Ontario County.

 

“Laurie is a leader and a collaborator, a creative thinker and a diligent doer,” said Meg Reed, chair of the steering committee for Neighbor to Neighbor Fund. “[Laurie] is forward-thinking, empathetic and is motivated to do what is right in the name of building an organization like the YMCA to be a crown jewel in the greater Canandaigua Community,” Gail Herman, Director of Marketing for The Medicine Shoppe. 

 

The award will be presented on June 7th at 5 PM at The Q, presented by the Ontario County Chamber of Commerce at The Woodcliff, in front of family, friends, and professional and community leaders from all over the region. For more information about The Q visit AttendTheQ.com.
