Feb 14th, 2023

On Thursday, February 9 at 12 pm, one hundred and fifteen guests gathered at Nolan’s at the Canandaigua Country Club for lunch to honor five Business Inspiration Award Recipients. The Business Inspiration Awards highlights decisions made by members that actively advance the regional economy, enhance the quality of life and position us well for the future. This year’s recipients include:

  • Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association. The Environmental Champion Award honors members that protect the beauty, integrity and vitality of our natural environment while reducing any harmful environmental impacts of business operations. Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association’s high-quality consumer guidance and education, long-term active monitoring of lake conditions and Lake Friendly Living campaign earned them this honor.

  • Leonard’s Express. The Visionary Investor of the Year honors members that update, modernize, or expand operations while retaining and increasing employment opportunities for our communities. Leonard’s Express’s demonstrated investment in the people of Ontario County, investment in new state of the art warehouse facilities in Shortsville and charitable commitments to raise awareness of breast cancer and Parkinson’s earned them this honor.

  • Family Counseling Services of the Finger Lakes. The Humanitarian of the Year honors a member that enhances health and quality of life, addresses humanitarian needs, and actively promotes diversity, equity and inclusion for everyone in their communities. It is Family Counseling’s pioneering work with Trauma-Informed Services as well as bilingual programming and services to the LGBTQ+ community in Ontario and surrounding counties that earned them this honor.

  • Uber Lawns and Landscape. The Innovator of the Year honors a member that introduces or reinterprets products, services or experiences, thus expanding the market and engaging new consumers. Uber Lawn & Landscape’s reinterpretation of traditional lawn and landscape services, customer-first mentality, lake-friendly practices and the commitment to invest a share of Uber’s profits in local charities like The Spot and Habitat for Humanity that earned them this honor.

  • Young Lion Brewing Company. The Minority or Woman Owned Business of the Year honors a minority- or woman-owned member business that honors and empowers minorities and/or woman to grow as individuals, to lead in their markets and to own their own businesses. Young Lion Brewing Company’s pace-setting accomplishments in microbrewing, their status as one of the larger microbreweries in New York State, and their active support of other small and mid-sized microbrewers earned them this honor.
