Spooktacular Halloween Costume Party at Americana Vineyards

Sep 24th, 2013

(Interlaken, NY) Halloween in the Finger Lakes wouldn’t be complete without Americana Vineyards Winery's annual Hallo-wine Spooktacular. The winery has a frightfully entertaining evening planned for their guests on Saturday October 26, from 8:00pm until the clock strikes midnight.

“Every year we have a theme, and this year it's Ghouls and Gatsby,” announced Joe Gober, the winery’s charismatic owner. “

This annual event is in it's eleventh year and is a Finger Lakes tradition, drawing return guests from all over the Finger Lakes and as far as Rochester and Syracuse. "We've already been getting calls asking about the theme," explains Butch Newhart, the winery's Director. "People can't wait to start getting their costumes together."

While it's not mandatory to come in costume, most people do. And this year, there will be a costume contest with three categories: Best Ghoul, Best Gatsby-Era Costume and Peoples Choice, which doesn't have to fit under either of the other two categories. Winners will be selected around 10:30 and each will receive a gift basket of Americana Wine and other ghoulish goodies.

In addition to the eye-candy a great costume party creates, there will be the famous herd of pumpkins carved by the winery staff the week before the party. That night, music will be provided by Elephant Sound, who deejayed the event last year. And, as always, Crystal Lake Café will be providing fiendishly good treats, with the winery selling wine by the bottle or glass.

“The first glass is on us!” Joe points out.

Attendance is limited to 400 guests who must be 21 or over. Admission is just $15 per person, $5 for wine industry employees, and free for the winery's Patriots Club members. People are strongly encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible by calling 888-600-8067.

Joe invites everyone to come out, “If you've never been to this party, you're in for such a good time! And if you're coming for a second, third or even eleventh year, we're so excited to have you back!”

Americana Vineyards Winery and Crystal Lake Café is located at 4367 East Covert Road in Interlaken, about 15 minutes north of Ithaca. Event updates and details can be found on the winery's website and on their Facebook page.

Americana Vineyards Winery is a destination winery located 15 minutes north of Ithaca, New York right off Cayuga Lake in the center of New York’s Finger Lakes Wine Region at 4367 East Covert Road in Interlaken. Americana opened in 1981, and is a founding member and anchor winery for the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. The Winery added an additional facility in 1999 for private parties, and Crystal Lake Café in 2006, a from-scratch café for year-round dining -- including their popular Sunday Brunch. Americana is the only winery in the area to host two year-round musical series: Friday Night Happy Hour from 6:00pm-8:00pm and Sunday Afternoon Music from 4:00pm-6:00pm. During warm weather the bands play in the Pavilion on the back lawn, and in cold or inclement weather, they play in the “Small Barn.” Americana produces 26 wines, many of which are nationally and internationally acclaimed, including their Chardonnay, which recently took Double Gold at the Florida International Wine Competition.
