Tara Lynn Named Executive Director of the Skaneateles Chamber

May 22nd, 2014

Tara Lynn, director of alumni affairs at Cornell University's Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, has been named executive director of the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce and Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Lynn, who will assume her new responsibilities June 16, succeeds Susan Dove, who served in the position for 17 years. Dove plans to buy the Colonial Motel, which she will reopen as the Skaneateles Inn on 20.

"The Chamber's board of directors is thrilled that Tara has decided to take up the baton as the second-ever executive director," said board chair Thomas Grant. "We are confident Tara will do a great job extending the standard of excellence Sue delivered day in and day out, and look forward to new ideas and designs that will help propel the Chamber to the next level."

As director of alumni affairs at the Johnson School, Lynn recruited and managed hundreds of volunteers, and organized programs and events worldwide. She served as assistant director of alumni relations from 2007 to 2010, when she was promoted to director.

A resident of Skaneateles, Lynn earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in international management from the University of Vermont. She also has studied at Otago University in New Zealand and the University of Hawaii.

"I'm truly honored to be chosen as the next executive director of the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce and I look forward to serving the community that I know and love," said Lynn.

The Skaneateles Chamber, which has more than 400 members, works to promote its members' prosperity, cultivate growth and economic development, and preserve the quality of life for the entire community.
