Corning's Gaffer District is thrilled to present a new summer event in Downtown Corning on the Northside, Taste of Summer on Thursday, July 23 from 5-8pm.
Taste of Summer will exclusively feature businesses of the Gaffer District, offering a taste of our food, services, product and culture. This is a celebration of summer intended to inspire our community to love where they live and work, and to remember that supporting small business is the key to keeping our downtown a vibrant regional attraction. The community is invited to come experience the local flavor of Corning's Gaffer District.

Come enjoy great music, delicious food and a glimpse of the variety of small businesses that make our downtown a great place to spend time throughout the year," said, Coleen Fabrizi, Executive Director, Corning's Gaffer District.
Bridge Street will be closed from Riverside Drive to Pulteney Street, leaving the bridge open for traffic. More than 30 businesses from throughout the Gaffer District will be out on Bridge Street highlighting something fun and summery. Many of the clothing stores will be part of the Taste of Summer Fashion Show, Arbor Development will offer a Kids Zone in their parking lot, and Bridge Street restaurants and bars will be open for food and drinks.
The event will include a watermelon eating contest, sponsored by Wegmans, the Taste of Summer Fashion Show at 5pm & 6:30pm, a book signing with the Fabulous Beekman Boys at 5:30pm and the Chris Clark Bicycle Show at 6:30pm. Acclaimed Irish rock group, The Town Pants will provide music entertainment for the evening from 5:30-8pm.

Chair massages, hair chalking, kids activities, fitness demonstrations, hands-on crafts, fun giveaways

Kayaking demonstrations on the Chemung River
