Historic Geneva to Run Trips to Buffalo, Cooperstown, and Boston
Geneva, N.Y.: Join Historic Geneva and Bus America Group Tours for three unique excursions in 2023—tours of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House and Graycliff in Buffalo (April 20); a day trip to Cooperstown (June 21); and a three-day bus trip to Boston (August 8-10). All trips will leave from and return to the Staples Plaza in Geneva (337 Hamilton Street). A minimum number of participants are required for each trip to run.
On April 20, participants in the Buffalo trip will enjoy a 75-minute guided tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House. A National Historic Landmark, the Martin House is nestled in the city's historic Parkside neighborhood and ranks as one of Wright's finest residential projects, a seminal Prairie House and a rare Wright design that incorporates multiple structures for an extended family. Following the tour, lunch will be at JP’s Pub in Lakeview, NY. In the afternoon, the group will have a 60-minute guided tour of Wright's Graycliff Estate, which blurs the distinction between man’s creation and nature’s generosity—built using sand, rock, and wood harvested from the grounds and coastline, then flooded with natural light.
The Buffalo trip costs $169 per person and includes roundtrip motorcoach transportation, tour manager, all admissions, and lunch. The bus will leave Geneva Thursday, April 20 at 6:30 a.m. and the estimated return time is 6:45 p.m.
The Cooperstown trip on June 21 starts with a narrated cruise on Otsego Lake aboard the Glimmerglass Queen. Lunch will be at the Lake Front Hotel, followed by a visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame or Fenimore Art Museum. There will also be time for strolling along Main Street. The cost of the Cooperstown trip is $179 per person, which includes roundtrip motorcoach transportation, tour manager, boat cruise, admission to the Baseball Hall of Fame or Fenimore Art Museum, and lunch.
The trip to Boston will include a Sunset cruise of Boston Harbor; visits to the USS Constitution and JFK Presidential Library and Museum; dinner at Cheers; and guided tours of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Fenway Park, and Harvard University. Price and further details are pending.
