Virtual Lunchtime Program Focuses on Drain Tile

Geneva, N.Y.: The next Geneva Historical Society History Sandwiched In program for 2021 will be held on March 3, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. The series features short presentations conducted on the first Wednesday of the month during the workday lunch hour. The March program features Geneva Historical Society Curator John Marks with "From Grain to Grapes: Drain Tile Over the Years."

The program will include a brief history of John Johnston’s innovations with drain tile and will look at how the profitable crops grown locally have changed over time. John will discuss the benefits of drain tile and its connection to current and past crops produced in the area.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this program will be presented virtually through Zoom and advance registration is required. A device, internet connection, and email address are necessary to participate. To register, participants should visit the program event page on the Geneva Historical Society website calendar of events. The necessary login information will be sent out via email 24 hours prior to the program. Registrations must be complete before 5:00 p.m. March 2, the day before the program.
