Waterman Conservation & Education Center in Apalachin, NY is hosting a fundraiser event that includes a Live and Silent Auction and a Dinner on April 26 at the Elks' Lodge in Vestal at 2071 Vestal Parkway West. Tickets are $13 for a single and $25 for a couple if purchased before April 24. After that, tickets are $15 for a single and $30 for a couple. Reservations are recommended as seating will be limited. A cash bar will also be available.
Tickets are being sold at East of the Sun West of the Moon, Conti Jewelry, The Kitchen Store, Early Owego Antique Center and Waterman Center. You may call the Center at 625-2221 or send a check (made out to Waterman Center) and tickets will be held for you until the night of the auction.
The evening starts at 6 pm with the Silent Auction comprised of over 125 large and small items. At 7 pm, a dinner consisting of braised beef, vegetables, potatoes, rolls, coffee/tea and dessert will be served and bidding on the Silent Auction will continue until 8 pm. Next is the most exciting and entertaining part of the evening with Fran Dunbar (our auctioneer) who will fire everyone up for the Live Auction. Over 150 items have been donated by local businesses and merchants, so there is something for everyone, from small to large items.
A sampling of our donations include: a gas water heater plus a gift certificate towards installation, a cultured pearl necklace and a sterling silver necklace with locket from Conti Jewelry, 4 one-day passes to Disney World, a golf package which includes 3 different golf courses, a NASCAR Racing Experience at Oswego Short Track, a stay at the Treadway, a digital thermostat with installation, a STIHL chain saw, many framed pictures and prints, and gift certificates and baskets galore.
Our “Growing Waterman” Dinner and Auction promises to be great fun and will give you a chance to support Waterman Center.
