On Friday, August 7 the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce will launch a new monthly event series that will take place on the first Friday of every month from 5-8pm in downtown Watkins Glen. The series is called Friday on Franklin and features wine and craft beverage tastings, delicious food samples, and local shopping.
Each month seven different businesses will be chosen to serve as event hosts. The event hosts will be paired with a local winery, craft beverage producer, or food vendor who will be set up inside of their business offering samples. Event attendees will purchase a glass for $10 at the Visitor Center (214 North Franklin Street). The glass is the ticket to the event. Attendees will also receive a list of which businesses, wineries, and breweries are participating. Participating event stops will also be marked by a white balloon outside of their entrance. After purchasing their glasses, event attendees will then filter up and down Franklin Street from 1st Street to 11th Street and a block or two east/west sampling wine and beer, local food products, and shopping and dining downtown!
