WATKINS GLEN HARBOR HOTEL ICE BAR RAISES $25,000 FOR AMERICAN RED CROSS

Feb 21st, 2017

What happens when a community comes together full-force and throws the “hottest party in the coolest town”? Incredible things! The support and generosity from this amazing, community-driven event will culminate with the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel presenting the American Red Cross with a check for $25,000.

The Red Cross will receive the donation check during a ceremony that will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, February 22 at 3pm at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel. For additional information on the check presentation ceremony, please contact the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel at (607) 535-6116. The Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel thanks the numerous, generous sponsors who made the event a tremendous success (see attached).

How, you might ask, will the Red Cross put this donation to use? Specifically, the donation will benefit the Finger Lakes Chapter’s Disaster Relief Fund, which provides food, clothing, shelter and other necessities for victims of fires, floods and other disasters in the chapter’s six counties: Schuyler, Steuben, Chemung, Seneca, Yates and Wayne.

“On behalf of our board of directors, volunteers, staff, and most importantly, the families we serve, thank you to Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel for their continued support,” said Chapter Executive Director Brian McConnell. “I also want to extend our appreciation to the sponsors and members of the community who are essential to the success of this extraordinary event.”

The 2017 edition was the sixth year of the annual event. Since its inception, the Ice Bar has generated $100,000 for the American Red Cross.
