Watkins Glen International announces 2017 dates for Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen, Finger Lakes Wine Festival

Aug 22nd, 2016

Watkins Glen International has announced 2017 dates for two of the track’s premier annual events.

Next year’s version of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, headlined by the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Continental Tire 150, will return to the June 29-July 2 weekend, to once again accommodate teams returning from the 24 Hours of Le Mans event in France.

Meanwhile, the Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, in its 21st year at Watkins Glen International, will be held July 14-16. Featuring over 90 of New York State’s finest wineries, in addition to vendors, live music, and more, the Finger Lakes Wine Festival is the premier wine tasting event in the Northeast.

On Friday afternoon, it was announced that the Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese was chosen “Best Wine Festival” by readers of USA Today and the 10Best contest. The honor comes just one year after Watkins Glen International was voted “Best NASCAR Track” in the same competition.

“Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen and the Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese are both unique and special events to Watkins Glen International as they showcase our facility in two different settings, one being the top wine tasting event in the region, and the other a world-class sportscar race weekend,” said WGI President Michael Printup. “We’re thrilled to have both of these fan favorites on our schedule once again.”

WGI will release further details regarding these two exciting event weekends, including ticket sales and packages, camping, entertainment, and more, along with additional event date announcements, as they become available.
