Wreaths Across America Trip to D.C.

Aug 03rd, 2015

First Choice Travel will be running a trip from Geneva to Washington, D.C. this December 11-13 to participate in Wreaths Across America, a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery held each December since 1992. It is the mission of Wreaths Across America to spread the message of the importance of remembering our fallen heroes, honoring those who serve, and teaching our children about the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms. Every year volunteers lay wreaths on over 100,000 gravestones throughout Arlington Cemetery.

In addition to the wreath laying, participants will have a guided tour of the monuments on the National Mall, view the National Christmas Tree and have some time for shopping or visiting a Smithsonian Museum. The tour requires moderate walking. The cost is $299 per person double occupancy. A $100 deposit is due with booking. The 3-day trip includes motorcoach transportation, tour manager, two nights' accommodation, two breakfasts, one dinner and a guided monument tour. For information or reservations, call Kerry Lippincott at the Geneva Historical Society at 315-789-5151.
