The Finger Lakes Region is a vast area beckoning the adventurous traveler to be explored and enjoyed!  With (11) Finger Lakes to choose from in upstate New York, it only seemed fitting to feature a distinctive old/new lakefront area tour of the 4th largest of those Finger Lakes: scenic and panoramic Canandaigua Lake.

NOT Your Typical Upstate NY Mennonite & Amish Tour

Many Amish & Mennonite families began purchasing farmland throughout the state of New York making the state one of the fastest-growing Amish and Mennonite populations in the country. The combined population between these (2) groups is approximately 25,000. Penn Yan, NY where, many of them have settled, lies at the north end of the east branch of Keuka Lake.

Our excursion begins just outside of the village of Penn Yan which originally was said to have been contrived from the first syllables of “Pennsylvania” and “Yankee”. These early settlers were from Pennsylvania and the New England area with the latter being known as Yankees.

Offered every Tuesday beginning in May and running through the end of October, this (4.5) hour tour is designed specifically to encourage each guest to participate fully.

Join us for Hosmer Winery’s annual harvest party – Some Like It HOT! Enjoy delicious food from Blowin Smoke BBQ while jamming to live music from Hot Dogs & Gin. Wine, regional beer, mimosas, and special cocktails will be served by the glass. Dance, eat, drink, and play lawn games in the summer sun to help us kick off the beginning of harvest. Many Amish & Mennonite families began purchasing farmland throughout the state of New York making the state one of the fastest-growing Amish and Mennonite populations in the country. The combined population between these (2) groups is approximately 25,000. Penn Yan, NY where, many of them have settled, lies at the north end of the east branch of Keuka Lake.

Our excursion begins just outside of the village of Penn Yan which originally was said to have been contrived from the first syllables of “Pennsylvania” and “Yankee”. These early settlers were from Pennsylvania and the New England area with the latter being known as Yankees.

Offered every Tuesday beginning in May and running through the end of October, this (4.5) hour tour is designed specifically to encourage each guest to participate fully.
