Christopher Allen Yerkes-Director

MISERY follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it, and it does.

W. Jacob, is a chilling, cautionary tale of a cursed object; Guy de Maupassant’s famous The Necklace explores the price one pays for a single evening of elegance; and Mark Twain’s comical outing, The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras Country transports us to the highly competitive society of frontier America in the nineteenth century.  These timeless glimpses into the human experience spring to life through the innovative use of sets, costumes, lighting and sound effects.

Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage—with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night a socially inept and grief-struck millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life…and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn’t dare. BECKY’S NEW CAR is a thoroughly original comedy with serious overtones, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken.
